spring vacation

I'm so sorry I haven't posted in so long. I've had some computer problems. So I'll have to catch everyone up. These are the cool new kites that grandma and papa got for jenna and samuel. They saw them at costco and thought that they were perfect! We've had fun flying around and trying not to get blown away!

Spring!

such a good helper
Before the pruning
I really love spring! It's probably because I live in Ohio. By the time spring comes I am so done with Winter and so thrilled to have warmer weather and see the sun I can hardly stand it! Living here has brought such an appreciation for spring and new growth, I really could never have gotten that anywhere else. So, once spring hits there is so much to do! We pruned the apple trees really well this year so we are hoping for a great crop! We're raking and getting all the leaves out and preparing and starting our garden. I decided this year it's going to be huge! I'm going to try a lot of new things. In the past, I've done tomatoes, basil and zucchini. My favorite things! But this year we are branching out to many new things! I'll keep you posted! SO in preparation for this it takes soooo much work!!! But the results will be so worth it!

The Best year yet!

St. patty's day 2009- downtown after the parade!
My new Treddy!
March 17 1998
Well it was our anniversary last Tuesday-yes we got married on St. Patrick's Day. Jay is Irish, so that is a big holiday in his family. We decided it would be fun since both of our favorite color is green! Jay also joined the church on march 16 1997. So this was one year and one day, so we could get married in the temple. We chose the Las Vegas Temple. It was a beautiful day 72 perfect degrees. I had lived in Las Vegas for my junior and senior year in high school and had kept in contact with friends and leaders that I wanted to be there. My aunt Nancy and Uncle Paul live there as well. We had our reception at their beautiful home. It was a great! I had everything I could've ever wanted. To this day there are only two things I would change. More dancing and less recieving guests. Also I would've had a ring ceremony so all of our family could've taken place in that. Other than those things- Perfect! As it should be!
So this year was the best anniversary ever! It was 71 degrees in Cleveland! That has never happened! First I ran on our anniversary present to ourselves- The tredmill! I have wanted one sice I ran track in highschool. Cleveland winters are so long and it has been very hard on me over the years. I get really down when I can't run. So now problem solved! SO, we went downtown with our friends and had the BEST day! We went the parade and then just played outside by the lake. We also went to the Great Lake Science Center. Fun, Fun, Fun! This is also Jay's last year of school- so this time next year he will be graduating!!! Well in may. You are all invited to the biggest graduatuion party ever!! I'm not kidding- WE've waited for the light at the end of the tunnel and it's almost Here!!!

Music

I love Music! I love most any kind of music, although there are some types that I call mean music. Music is in my heart and my soul. I wish I could sing like an angel! Sometimes I feel like my heart is going to explode with song but it never comes out sounding the way it sounds in my heart! Music can bring the spirit in or the spirit can most definitely leave if you aren't listening to the right music. It is so important in my life! It can brighten my day when I'm feeling sad, it can mean playtime with my kids, or time to learn a new song for primary. We are always playing or singing something in our home. We also love to dance! We got a piano last summer so I'm remembering how to play and I'm trying to teach the kids. This is why I post so many different kinds of music on my play list. Every song is connected with a memory, thought or feeling. I hope you enjoy some of my musical selections and maybe, just maybe they might bring some warm memories for you too!

Handmade Gifts from me!

Here's how it works-the first 5 people to leave a comment on this post will receive, at some point during the year, a handmade gift from me. What it will be and when it will arrive is a total surprise! The catch is that you must participate as well-before you leave your comment here, write up a pay it forward post on your blog to keep the fun going. Then come back, let me know you're going to play, and sit back and anticipate the arrival of your gift! Remember that only the first 5 comments will receive a gift from me, so be quick!"

life with the sickes

The past two weeks have been oh so much fun! Not really- my kids have been sick. And you all know what this means. Cranky girl, cranky boy, cranky mom! I mean I can take it for a little while but the constant whining and crying really starts to get to me. I should be stronger, and so when I feel the urge I escape to the office to organize my scrapbook/card supplies. That is the silver lining in all this. Although I had to endure vapo rub, snotty Kleenex and way too much t.v., I have gotten a lot done with my pictures and memorabilia. I took the crying cranky girl to the doctor finally today-double ear infection and sinus infection. I guess I shouldn't have waited so long! So, After a nasty two weeks we see a light atthe end of our sick tunnel! The sun came out today and while Samuel rode his bike my mom and I ran! It was so great! I love the Spring! Living in Ohio I dread the winter, but when spring comes I am sooo grateful! It's so wonderful to see the new life begining after the cold long winter. So all in all things are looking a whole lot brighter- I even had to pull out my shades!

One of the many Cleveland snow days

Samuel's snowman - with grandma Jo's help

Fun new sled from uncle Ken and uncle Jake
Jenna's snowman
Another favorite winter pastime- SLEDDING! We have a great park around the corner from our house. It is an all season favorite. We have picnic's in the summer and sledding in the winter. Even though we live in the freeze it rarely stops me from going outside!

Ken-Just hold me then I can slide
Jenna in her brand new skates. She wants to be a great skater so bad!
Okay - no hands for Samuel

Ha Ha I'm doing it!!!

We love to ice skate in the winter. It seems to make the time pass a little faster when we are doing fun things! Samuel has new skates now too, so we've gone a few times. They love it! We've caught a few hockey games as well- which were very cool.
